Job Description
- Modify and maintain drawings and design modifications based on “as built” conditions
- Evaluate potential solutions to engineering problems for feasibility, manufacturability, and cost.
- Support shop and field technicians to ensure that equipment is installed correctly.
- Stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide designs that are continually competitive and cost effective.
- Assist with determining project scope and specification based on customer requirements.
- Determines and agrees to manpower, expense, and capital budgets; and monitors spending.
- Implements and maintains design tools programs to ensure a high degree of standardization and design data integrity.
- Ensures that design documentation is complete, accurate, and conforms to industry standards and policies.
- Ensures that complete design and development records are kept for new in-house product designs.
- Evaluates new proposals and provides estimates for design efforts as required.
- Assists in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Inspects completed installations and observes operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Supervises and trains maintenance personnel on the mechanical and structural aspect of the facility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a valid Professional License or a Master’s Degree in a related field
- Strong knowledge and experience in critical thinking, equipment selection, complex problem-solving, and active listening
- Demonstrated ability in sound judgment, decision-making, and effective time management
- Excellent communication, presentation, system analysis, and evaluation skills
- Knowledgeable in learning strategies, personnel management, and continuous development of technical expertise in Mechanical Maintenance and Project Management
- Hands-on experience in mechanical design, development, documentation, fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery of mechanical projects
- Experienced in project cost monitoring, schedule tracking, reporting, and project control
- Broad knowledge and experience in design engineering principles and practices
- At least ten (10) years of professional experience, including two to three (2–3) years in a supervisory or managerial role within an industrial or heavy industry environment, with extensive knowledge in project management and mechanical maintenance.
